2 pointsSo we all had to gate check them. Mine was in a gearbag so it wasn't a big deal but one of the other guys was worried. He had a Racer with not-great pin protection to begin with. They got there OK. (Was a 30 minute flight.)

2 pointsi think it's a travesty and the money should be returned to all donors and the board jailed, or at least fined, for incompetence. that may seem a little drastic, but this is serious. 48 years is a long time to hold onto a pipe dream.

2 pointsHowever, in the Clinton case, the White House cooperated with House subpoenas. The president himself testified. In the Trump case, the Senate would not have had to worry about witnesses had the legal subpoenas been honored. Bottom line: the administration thumbed its nose at the oversight authority of Congress, ignored legally binding summons to answer questions and participate in the investigation. And the Senate Republicans allowed it. This is the very definition of a Constitutional crisis.

2 pointsHi Wendy, Speaking for myself; he damn sure does not represent this man. Never has, never will, Jerry Baumchen

2 pointsActually you are wrong. Trump snubbed her with the handshake and THEN she did her intro. Honestly Nancy beat Trump at his own game, the whole news cycle had been dominated by her tearing up two pieces of paper. Any lies and exaggerations Trump made have been drowned out. I think we are witnessing the descent of the USA into a banana republic.

2 pointsClass includes: Paying a porn star. Making fun of a gold star family. Making fun of a disabled person. Praising nazis. Denying science. Stealing from a charity. Setting up a fake university. Joking about committing sexual assault. But Pelosi tearing up some paper, now that is outrages.

2 pointsWell....there is no real need for a skydiving HoF. Skydivers are not famous outside of skydiving. It is a vanity project and is completely unneeded and unjustified. Successful HoFs are revenue generators because the public has large enough numbers of people who are interested. No one gives a shit about skydivers, but some of us like to think what we do is special. These people need to get over themselves.

1 pointLooking for a canopy for the new season. I currently have a Spectre 135, which I love the openings of, but not the handling or the landings particularly. Before that I was on a Stiletto 150 for many years and I loved it, but I moved to the Spectre for the openings as my neck couldn't take the occasional spanker from the Stiletto (which i kept in trim). Question is: any recommendation for a fun 9 cell that reliably opens soft? I don't care about speed. Will load at 1.3 / 1.4. I haven't been deep in the forums in the last couple years so new canopies might have escaped my attention. Fanks!!

1 pointI've had several Crossfire2s, all of which have opened like butter (except that one time I rushed through literally the first pack job on one of them - that one was literally the hardest opening I've ever had. Still no ice-pack needed). Worth noting that they are not the most on-heading openings I've ever had, but in about a thousand jumps on them, I could count the jumps on which I've had line-twists on the fingers of one hand

1 pointThanks for sharing :) Curious as to what the pilot's reasoning why he wouldn't want the rigs on his airplane

1 pointThis is serious. And what is even more disturbing is how our elected members of the BOD continue to let this go on. Jim McCormack was at their meeting last Fri. He talked for 5 min, showed some sites around Orlando and......thats it. Nobody asked any questions. Nobody said why are you spending 37% of all donations and where is it going. Nothing. But, they continue to give away members money to this organization to the tune of 25K a yr. In the meantime, Dillingham field has been notified they are closing, out of the blue in colorado has been kicked out and skydive myrtle beach is still battling to operate. Has Anyone from the USPA helped any of these members? No! They're too busy changing a couple words in the SIM or IRM to be bothered with such stuff. Any BOD member can come and explain what is going on. They won't. Its time we as members get everyone aware of what is happening and take care of this. Tell everyone you know!

1 pointYou're assuming everyone will vote the same party regardless. There are plenty of us out there who will vote for the person we like for president, then the person we like for senate/house. However, the reason I don't see the senate losing (m)any seats is that the ones who really need to go, who up for election this year, represent states that aren't likely to boot them out. And all the old-party, self-respecting Republican senators resigned before the mid-terms.

1 pointIt’s telling that you, as a man, feel as though you can judge women, and pontificate on their progress. For crap’s sake, she was only slightly more petulant than whoever it was that cried “liar” during Obama’s state of the union address. And she’s an individual, just as Trump doesn’t (thank God) represent men. Wendy P.

1 pointI know you're a Trump supporter, so I understand your desire to try to distract from the owning of Trump by Pelosi.

1 pointWho's calling him Saint Mitt or are you making that up? And when did we call him Hitler personified or are you... Ahhh, fuck it, I know the answer to both of these... Christ, man, your partisan shit is weak. But I'll answer your question because you asked it and you didn't really want an answer. (And because you didn't really want an answer, I want to answer it.) First some context, I'm not a Democrat - I'm not affiliated - but he was the governor of my state for a while. I voted for him for Governor, he was way better than his Republican predecessor, Jane Swift, and more or less better than his Democratic challenger, Shannon O'Brien. Anyway, he did a OK job. He cut taxes state-wide, but a lot of that led to shifting the burden to the towns and cities, so a lot of them had to raise taxes. Is that good or bad? I dunno. Most people here don't know either. He came up with the universal health care that my state now has. It isn't perfect, but it's better than having a bunch of uninsured folks clogging up the emergency room (which is the most expensive version of care you can get). I'd rather be in that system than be poor an uninsured in something like Alabama. Of course, once that plan - originally from Bain Capital - got adopted by Obama, the Republican party couldn't have it... Which was weird because they proposed it... But that's another story. Anyway, I think he's mostly looked at as a B+ or maybe A- governor. In terms of running for Presidency, I don't think he ever had a chance given demographics, but whatever. I voted for him in my state's primary. Most people from my state basically shrugged their shoulders, though, when it didn't work out. So... I dunno. Flash forward to today. Clearly the guy had something on his conscience that made him think he ought to vote the way he did, instead of being a robot and voting the way he was told. Regardless of his position, I'd be OK with that, since I'm really OK with independent thought. That might bother you, though, since I get the vibe that you are one of those people who root for politics like they do sports teams, and without a whole lot of thought.

1 pointHe's not Saint Mitt in my eyes just because you say so. I'm in subsidized Happy Valley with his vote but he's still a self serving douchebag.

1 pointNone of it. I did witness one person turn a SOTU into a partisan reality TV show, handing out autographs on the way out.

1 pointAnyone crying about petulance or decorum or tantrums from any part of the Democratic party can fuck right off. This is the bar that has been set, it's the new normal now, deal with it. They played nice and tried to do the right thing for years, and nothing changed. Trump didn't slow down one bit and no-one in his party has held him accountable, so why the hell would the D's continue to be the "nice" guys? It's almost like one party gets to do whatever they want and the other one is just supposed to take it. Same reason people are always saying the Dem's need to reach out and bring the moderate R's across to them with more conservative approaches, but will NEVER contemplate that maybe the R's should be trying to attract Dem's. "Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man. You take a step toward him. He takes a step back. Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man."

1 pointThink he's faking his cancer? Given that he claimed Michael J. Fox was faking his disease, I see no reason to give any respect to Lush. He's a drug addict, let his household help go to jail, big time racist, misogynist, spreader of lies and conspiracies. Yeah, let's give that guy a medal. It's not making fun of someone when you return the respect as they have given others.
-
1 pointWhy not, you elect president somebody who makes fun of grabbing women by the pussy, gold star families, physically disabled reporters, native people etc. A little chuckle at the irony of this karma is well within the clearly established bounds of American society.

1 pointit wasn't a state of the union address, it was a trump rally. he doesn't know how to act any other way when he is in front of a microphone. i am also not surprised that someone calls his lies exaggerations as his fan boys are fanatical. too stupid to realize that by backing this idiot, they are selling out their country. all i hear when asked about why folks support him is "my 401k is doing pretty well". i hope it is worth it, selling out country for a retirement that wouldn't be needed had they not decimated the social security.

1 pointUsing the occasion to present Rush Limbaugh with the Medal of Freedom is pretty darn close to flinging turds!

1 pointAnd this is who so many are okay with occupying the office of the PRESIDENT. "Heard it somewhere and it seemed right to him." He is in the office that has all the resources at his disposal. ALL of them. Anything he needs to learn/understand, there is SOMEONE (or many someones) who will appear in short order to explain it ad nauseum and ad infinitum. Answer all the questions until the matter is understood. "seemed right" is not the guesswork that the occupant of the most powerful position in the country (and most of the world) should just be spouting off. Let's not even get started on the comment that he doesn't have good judgement. [facepalm] All the accomplishments supporters want to point to? I'll admit, some things enacted in this administration have been good. Getting started on prison reform, for example. Great first step in that process. However, no one has convinced me that THIS guy is the only person in the country who could have signed those bills, or negotiated anything. In a different perspective: his incredibly short list of accomplishments are vastly overshadowed by this incredibly MASSIVE pile of damages.

1 pointWithin a minute it's obvious she has issues. It's unacceptable because it's dangerous. Call the cops and get her help. Mocking her and applauding her removal is wrong. Maybe I expect too much of humans.

1 pointIMHO, I don't want to pay for college students to jump. They should be saving their pennies and learning how to make a living. Once they have some $ saved up, they can pay for their own damn jumps. I'd rather fund a museum.
-
1 pointLots of USPA members support this project. The BOD is representing everyone, not just the folks complaining about it. It's easy to complain, much harder to get things done.
