Can you please make all forum text black (subjects and posts' text)? Currently is is greyish. Black would make it a lot easier to read.

You seem to confuse communism with atheism and want to call Stalin's murderous regime a religious battle. It was not, and I'm not going to be drawn into a useless debate over the body count of history. History is interesting, but not as important as today and tomorrow. People are killing others in the name of god today. Of course it is not the fault of god or religious leaders. It is a cultural and racial battle. God does not ask Christians to kill Jews, or Muslims to kill Christians. But someone does. Who?

Someone like who? The only people I can think of in our society who might do such a thing are evangelical Christians. I have heard many of them express great dislike of the Catholic church. It sure as heck wouldn't be atheists. I don't see any point here. This all goes back to the current "freedom of religion" movement. Which in rightwing circles just means freedom to discriminate because you believe god wants you to or some other bullshit justification.

So you are offended that you turned this thread into an angry diatribe. And all those atheists are going to cheap hotels to participate in meaningless ceremonies, causing them to later "flip out." What losers! And they will get their comeuppance, because the progressive conservatives living in electrically powered modern cities are better off than all those rural backwards atheists who hate progress and who have no power. A trillion dollars better! People like you, who live next to a fifty million acre wilderness paradise and who regularly commune with Nature, all those super gibbous moons and whatnot. And who are NOT AT ALL materialist. And your examples are valid, but examples other people use about Christianity are exceptions. And when people point out the conflict in all the above, you claim "Am I not in jest?" And that the rest of the people here just can't handle your rapier wit. But you were really being serious. In a funny way. That about cover it?

Hypocrisy. If someone went to a foreign country made up of little brown people dominate in catholicism and said how much they hated it - the left would call them "hater" and encourage them to be more diverse and understanding of others. If someone went to a city that happened to have a gay pride rally and said how much they hated it - the left would call them "Trans or Homo phobic" and encourage them to be more diverse and understanding of others. You find yourself in a country that is predominantly Christian and it suddenly becomes "forced down the throats of succeeding generations or have it crammed in our faces from every direction." Or, Gowlerk says "Snowflake Christians" but, no one encourages him to be more diverse and understanding of others. The billboards made me do it. "What is very odd is that I have a couple of friends whom I value intensely and trust beyond measure who are firm believers." "But, I have friends who are black?"

If he even existed. Which there is absolutely no proof of. There are no contemporaneous accounts of him, and no archeological proofs exist either. The gospels are clearly about someone that was believed to have existed. But they certainly leave room for both believers and doubters. In any case there is no clear birth or death date for him. Making it very easy and convenient to take over both the winter solstice and the spring celebrations as the church slowly imposed its will on the population of Europe. Christianity and most religion is about power and glory. Not of God, but of priests and kings.

Absolutely understand that pagans aren’t atheists! I would not identify as pagan, just rather ‘borrowing’ or stealing their traditions in the same way the Christians have
