For crap's sake. How many liberals are vocally scared of living in cities, scared of Moozlims, scared of minorities, scared of being without their guns? Yeah, we're good at political correctness, but on the other hand, so are the conservatives, just in a different direction (want to talk about the "war on Christmas?"). Fear is how weak people without ideas get others to see things their way. Personal safety is a driving concern for most of us, so fear-mongering is definitely a way forward for them. Teuge in Holland. Jumps are free because the DZ get's paid by windmills which are just like propellers so it's the same. Why other DZ's need money to pay for maintenance, pilots, manifester's , groundskeepers, riggers, lawn mowers, garbage dumpers and the people who unclog the stopped up shitters is a mystery. I think they also have free rides to free places to stay.

Stay teachable. By that, I mean don't ever forget that you know very little and have a lot to learn. Don't become the '100 jump wonder' who knows everything. Continue to learn. I've heard it said that some skydivers have 500 jumps, others have done the same jump 500 times. Keep showing up. Even if the weather is 'iffy', show up anyway. There's a lot that can be learned on weather holds, just sitting around and talking. Listen more than you talk. At this point, there's very little you can do to impress them with your skills. But you can show a good attitude.
