I have an update from Jimmy's daughter (October 19th). She said he is making great progress. He is eating solid food now and his trach is out. He is able to walk with the help of a walker. He is anxious to leave the hospital and go home but he still needs some rehab. They are hoping he can head to rehab next week!

God does nothing for me. Or anyone else for that matter.

Holy thread drift Batman! I know a couple of skydivers who installed breathalizers in their cars after they were arrested one too many times for driving drunk. One guy had a variety of drug addictions and alcohol was just one of his demons. The breathalizer was connected to his ignition switch, so he had to blow "clean" before his car would start. OTOH I think that breathalizers are a waste of money for the other 80 percent of the population.

Those feelings are usually called “ flash backs”.

I'll add just this little bit. If everyone considering downsizing at 70 jumps had your thoughtfulness and wisdom we'd have a much safer sport.

Flyhi... Thanks for your time and your response... your comments regarding fall rates... sounds like something I can't figure out by doing math... because right now... i don't know WHO I'll be jumping with... which brings us back to Ms Wendy's comments/advice... used it should be... assuming it doesn't prove to be a search for a unicorn... Thanks again and Blue Skies!

So if I talk yobnoc out of being born again did I abort him?

The phrase "born again" gets used a lot and with different meanings; perhaps you could clarify what your definition of this nonsensical term is.

    THAT is the indoctrination.

It’s actually no surprise that evangelicals embrace Trump. Their whole ethos and belief system relies on ignoring the overwhelming evidence of facts to embrace a fictitious storyline. The USA has a religious fundamentalist problem and it isn’t the muslims! With every passing day I feel that my views that the USA is closer in ideology to Iran than it is to most of Europe. Especially as you venture into the Bible belt.

I don't hate the idea, as long as there are protections in place. For instance: I would want to know that there is no data collection of any kind associated with the program. The scenario I'm thinking of would be: you stop for a couple beers at a family-friendly joint after work on your way home, you blow a .06 to start your vehicle, and the local police get a notification that there is an impaired driver in a white '20 Ram 1500 leaving Coloseum Gentleman's Club heading eastbound on 8 Mile.

I have bought an RW and a camera suit from Bev and the quality is top notch. I have done over 1000 tandems in the RW suit and other than some minor repairs it's still going strong. Tony suits are well built as well. Jump suits are expensive but don't go cheap, you get what you pay for.

Many questions are asked in this forum about skydiving gear, and there are many highly qualified folks who can provide excellent input. You may notice that most of them add the comment "contact the manufacturer." Reading all such posts here, I find that many folks would rather post their question in these forums instead of contacting the people who made the gear in the first place. Instead of scratching my head wondering why, I decided to stick this post at the top of the Gear and Rigging Forum hopefully making a few skydivers better informed. Did you know that there are a large number of Dropzone.com members that own or work for companies in the parachute industry? I have posted a list below of the ones I have been able to round up. Please, if you know of more that are dotcommers, let me know. I will continually edit this list to keep it as up-to-date as possible. In my experience with manufacturers, they are all very approachable and work very hard to answer my questions. Through my experience, I have some tips for those who want to ask them a question: -read the manual first. It might answer your question by itself. If not, you may only be calling the manufacturer for a clarification instead of a complete explanation. -read all related manuals. If the component is used in conjunction with another, read both to understand the full picture. -use email. I get better results with email because it can be forwarded to exactly the right person to answer my question, and the issue it contains can be addressed when that person is focused on it, rather than having a phone call interrupt them. -be clear and concise. Stay away from the "story" unless it is specifically relevant to your question. Focus on the specific issue. -use their manufacturer homepage email address. That address will give your question more visibility. Bear in mind that some manufacturer dotcommers will read their PMs, others may not. -provide as much information as possible: your full name, phone numbers, best time(s) to call, email address, the component serial number (SN), date of manufacture (DOM), and model. -just buy a used rig? Ask them to fax you the production sheet. It will provide you with much useful information such as when it was made, who it was sold to, all harness measurements, what canopies it was built for, and even clear up whether an unusual feature was incorporated during manufacture or during a later modification in the field.
