Carl passed away suddenly in his New Hampshire home in February. I know he left a decent impact on the people he met and made acquaintance with, I just want to make sure the Skydive Community is able to remember him here. He jumped Skydive New England frequently and will be missed. Too bad we couldn't fly together Uncle, Blue Skies.

I'm becoming a slacker,I'm down to 2 jobs Medic/Rescue and Teaching in the fall. So, I finally made it official and put in my notice with the Department that I'm officially done. I know the timing looks pretty bad to outsiders with all the fires going on in our state, but I have been on/off training for the last few months and nothings more dangerous then not being current. I've really been focusing my attention on EMS,and haven't felt that strong pull to be out with the Fire Dept. so I knew it was time. Hubby finishing his Fire science degree and accepting a job at another department also made it easier.

I hate the vaping trend. I absolutely think it's bad inhaled first or second hand. But, because I had high hopes that it would help smokers quit I decided to allow it around the DZ outside of the designated smoking areas. So far I don't think anyone here has gone from smoking to vaping to neither. So now we have vaping around, which has it's own problems, but at least they aren't smoking

No good reason for drinking alcohol. But we already found out what banning that does. People enjoy smoking & vaping. And jumping from planes. And driving fast cars. And eating unhealthy foods. Freedom means the ability to choose what we want to do. Some of those choices have risks.

No, it isn't. I hate the quote system here now.

Similar products, so it would make sense to take a similar approach. I don't know if banning all such ads makes sense, but I'd be 100% on board with banning any ads at all targeting kids.

The specific study that showed formaldehyde as a byproduct was maximally flawed. They heated dry kanthal to 1000F and after 100 consecutive seconds they found trace amounts of formaldehyde as the kanthal broke down chemically. Mose vapes don't even hit 500F, and I don't think it's possible to inhale for 100 seconds straight. My larger devices log all that stuff. I inhale for about 2.4 seconds and control the temperature at roughly 400F.

I can't do that but I will toss in one red spamming notice. Some day those will be worth something.

I'm on a 10 minute call and she just winked at me and went into the tent. The Load Organizer is chewing my ass about sumpin, but she just winked at me and went into the tent. I need to run into town to get some beer for my beer offense, but she just winked at me and went into the tent

My 2 cents. It really depends on the group. If you jump with an experienced group they will to some extent tailor to your skills and you will feel you have progressed. If the group has weaker skills you will feel you are stagnating. The best thing to do is to get on coached camps. It is well worth the money. They will always make groups with different skill levels and they will always make the jump challenging but not overwhelming so you will get maximum progression from each dive. It is the best way to learn large formation skydiving. It also depends a lot on your daily form. I know that I make ridiculous mistakes if I get too tired. At this point it becomes a waste of money and I become a risk factor. So monitor yourself.

Cookie G3 gives good visual range so you can still see your three rings, RSL, etc. well. I like the full face. Protects me from passenger fluids. =)

Full face helmet on a tandem skydive is total bullshit.
