There’s an interesting aspect to racism and culture. I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up seeing South Africans as racist but we were not. Then I moved to the UK and saw just how racist Zimbabweans were or could be and also for the first time really experienced racism from Black to White (try dealing with the Zimbabwean embassy and people inside it as a white Zimbabwean 15-20 years ago). i then spent time in the Southern US states and can safely say that those states have rampant racism, very close to the worst I saw in Africa. Now I’m in Australia and racism is quite prevalent. There is an ad running on the radio at the moment where ‘x is a whinging Pom and when the temperature is above 28 degees...’ It’s actually pretty offensive. In short people normalise their views based on who they surround themselves with. I’m sure that Trump and members of the KKK genuinely believe they aren’t racist, but you know those black lives matter people, wow are they racist or what!

I'm just really confused here. Is it anti-semitic to disagree with a government's political moves? Is Israel's government beyond any criticism whatsoever? It seems like these days if anyone even raises an eyebrow at Israeli policy or questions what their government is doing, they just get nailed with the "anti-semite" label. What's up with that?

It exposes a reality that many of us thought was not as prevalent in the US. I'm reminded of when I woke up on election day +1 and felt like I was in a different country, one that does not uphold the ideals and moralities that I grew up thinking of as our national identity.

Socializing is nice and all but I recommend saving at least the last mins of your ride up rehearsing in your head as well as focusing on your breathing, helps more than you think. And as it was said above, jump more. The more exposed to this "stress" the better you become at handling it.

From 1963 to 2006 I experienced 39 malfunctions resulting in 14 reserve depolyments. None of those were scary at the time. They were simply fascinating jumps. My only scary jump story is the plane ride on my 10th jump for a 5 second delay. I was so scared I almost wet my jumpsuit. I wanted to cry but choked back the tears. It was the delayed stress of experiencing a streamer on my 8th jump. I used to teach students, at some point you will reach the maximum point on your fear curve. Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.
