Of course the other way to look at it is: imagine how bad things need to be to take that level of risk

The relative stretchiness of dacron lines I believe is fairly well known, and important. I think there is something about the friction between dacron lines and slider grommets that is "just right". Ever since I've had my Pilot relined with Dacron, it has been "just right". I don't know if it is as simple as coefficient of friction or if it is a more complicated relationship with other properties, but I think dacron lines make it easy to get nice openings. I think that slippery line types, such as spectra make it more uncertain because of their different frictional or other properties. I have no experience at all with other types of lines, perhaps they also provide that just right interaction with the slider grommets. I think more of us that jump larger canopies should consider dacron when a reline is needed. Dacron's ability to not get snagged on velcro or other such similar natural or synthetic materials is also really nice. I always felt like I was destroying my lines when they would get snagged on some velcro from my jumpsuit wrist cuffs, or some vegetation that would get snagged... Anyway, I think early canopy designers benefited greatly from the good characteristics of dacron rubbing against grommets, and we would be grateful if other line types had that just right relationship, even if they weren't stretchy. Just a random ramblin, what do you think?

That's what I said about the LAST election that ended up with this President in power. Never have I been so hopeful and so dissapointed by the democrats at the same time.

    >What's the best way to practice packing? With a Professional Rigger watching over your shoulder. Find a local rigger and ask if you can practice packing in their loft. You can do your thing and develop practice and muscle memory, and they can do their thing - rigging and paying the bills - and provide oversight and guidance as you go. Pay Them For Their Time. It will take practice and repetition, but with the right amount of guidance, you'll both come out winners in the end.

The mount works with the pivot glove which can be purchased just the glove portion at chutingstar. I love this mount, it is clean, simple to use.

Never mind, the system just ate my post and it is gone. Great. Ok here we go again. I connected with a guy named Joe on Facebook, his Facebook business page is under the name Triple D. He is doing a bunch of 3d printing. He had a stock glove setup, and he also printed a sweet double go-pro 7 mount for the front of my FTP that replaces the porch. I haven't put a ton a jumps on the glove, so I am still trying to figure out if I like how it sits lower on my hand instead of higher and further back. Makes it closer to the student and I have t-rex arms, but I like the simplicity of the setup. Camera are retained by friction and two spring loaded gates. Very snug fit on the cameras, I might actually sand slightly so they slide in easier. Joe was great to work with, and I would definitely recommend buying stuff from him if you like the design.

See my response in the gear forum, I didn't know you cross posted, but I responded there. I have one solution I am just trying out, and another one coming if usps ever stops mailing it back and forth across the country that will replace the existing housing on the Pivot pad glove.

I know I sound like an old man yelling at kids on his lawn, but is this the picture that should be on the cover of the official publication of the USPA? Should the USPA really be promoting lighting your canopy on fire? It gives it a sense of legitimacy and may even make some people think they can go to the SIM to find out how to do it.

May 5th, 2018 marks 1 year clean from drugs and alcohol for me. It’s been a tough, exciting, and challenging year, but I feel so proud of myself for the changes I’ve made. I’ve lost 40lbs, started a new job that I actually enjoy going to, started sport climbing again, saved thousands of dollars, and marriage for my partner and I is on the horizon. All those things were thrown away for me over a year ago, and they are mine again. I haven’t made a skydive since 2012. 2019 just may be the year I get back in the sky.
