Inflatable wings and suit beahviour

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,
I got myslf a prodigy 1 to get a taste of WSing. It has (but i guess you guys know) not inflateable wings, just 2 layers of ZP for the wings (i guess its two layers).

Here is the question:
Do inflateable wings alter (benefit) the stability of the suit.

I can imagine that airchambers could help to keep the wings in place with less care and afford to maintain stable flight, like the Impact TS with the infaltabe upper torso, whitch nearly keeps your arms in the position the suit was designed for.

cheers

Inflation on the wings has 2 main goals

  • Take some pressure of the arms (force needed to hold wings open)
  • Provide the wing with a better shaped aerofoil

The slighly lighter force needed to pull on the wing aids in stability to a small degree. The prodigy was upgraded to the prodigy2 with inflatable wings in part for that reason.

The D licence suggests he is someone who just doesnt like filling in profiles with jump numbers. Few countries give those away with a box of cornflakes...:P
So Id venture a guess he has quite a few more..(or at least hope so)
