splat123 0 #1 October 29, 2010 Hi all, I own a early classic 1, (single zip, bitch to get into) that I have never flown yet, do you think I should carry on with school GTI suit/ is the classic a step backwards? After 40 + jumps on s-fly access & 6 on prodigy, I did 4 jumps on GTI which I found very stable, apart from barrel roll that put me into a back spin balled up & back into stable flight I am interested in the acrobatic & flocking side, but just trying to learn to fly the suit at the moment. mccordia 74 #2 October 29, 2010 Performance wise the Classic is a bit of a step bellow the GTi, but for learning on solo flights, and the focus on barrelrolls, frontloops etc that you mention, its definately a good choice. Flockingwise booth GTi and Classic are suits you'll have to work hard to fly with the groups (mostly related to the lower forward speed, compared to newer wingsuit models).JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? splat123 0 #3 October 29, 2010 Thanks for the advice & quick reply. Going to hook it up to my rig tonight & head to DZ tomorrow. Thought the smaller wing areas would be better to learn on & it smells better than school GTIIs the best arm position like the GTI ? elbows up & slight bend? SkymonkeyONE 4 #8 November 11, 2010 Original Classics are still great suits. The best mod to update them is to simply add two additional front zippers off to the sides of the original one which terminate down close to the knees. Any "suzy-wan" sewing shop will do the mod for around $25. That, or you could beg your rigger to do it. Chuck
splat123 0 #9 November 11, 2010 Still not jumped the classic yet, but I will. Think I will get the extra zips mod done, so it will be easy to have some fun with. A winter project for my rigger any advice on best zips to use ?
