tinfoil 0 #1 November 20, 2003 Anyone tried to put a Neptune in the external audible spot of a Z1 with the ProTrack modification? I know the face plate wouldn't line up, I'm just wondering if there a possibility of Parasport Italia making a faceplate like they did for the ProTrack. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. tinfoil 0 #3 July 11, 2004 wow, its kinda odd to see your own old thread back from the dead I've tried to put the Neptune in the Z1, but it doesn't quite fit. The inside plate is alright, but the hole that goes over the speaker needs to be moved. The screws need to be a bit longer, maybe 2 mm would do it. For the outside plate, the buttons don't quite line up but are pretty close, the display seems to fit ok, but its rounded where I guess the protrack isn't, or isn't as rounded. Oh, and the Neptune sits kinda far inside the Z1, Looks like you'd need to hack out a bit of padding or plastic or something. I think the Neptune could fit, it would just take a few small modifications to the existing design. I was thinking about asking a guy who works in a metal shop to take a look and see if he could come up with anything. frick it, don't read that, just look at the pictures “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. cvfd1399 0 #4 July 11, 2004 Cool thanks. Is that the regular Z1 or the STI?
tinfoil 0 #5 July 11, 2004 its a full face Z1 with the STI option, but with a protrack plate “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. cvfd1399 0 #6 July 11, 2004 Ahh I see what threw me off I thought you were trying to fit it into the regular Z1 not a STI. The Z1 and a neptune is what I am getting. Thanks anyways. I am sure this needed to be addressed anyways
pilotdave 0 #7 July 12, 2004 Neptune fits into the internal pockets too.... not as convenient to play with it in the plane, but I can get it out to change the alarms or look at the logbook on the ride up. Took a little while to get the hole in the liner for the pocket to stretch a little to get it in and out easily, but after a few days it got easy. cvfd1399 0 #8 July 12, 2004 I still don't understand why a DOT approved full face name brand Motorcycle helmet from a well named motorcycle store is $74 and the Z1 is $270(cheapest I can find) Is it just B/C it is a "skydiving" helmet?
pilotdave 0 #9 July 12, 2004 Supply and demand. The non-STI Z1s are a bit cheaper. Dunno why they charge extra for a hole... Dave
