iwasinkheson68 0 #1 April 13, 2008 hello guys, i'm looking to order a phantom 2 in the next couple of days and wondered if people think the leg cutaway system is worth the extra 70 euros? i'm not having any luck loading up the user manual on the pf website to read about it. this will be my first wingsuit and i jump a spectre 170 so i'm not needing to run out stupidly fast hp landings. cheers, mike
VectorBoy 0 #2 April 13, 2008 Leg release systems were needed on the older suits due to the narrower stance. Today just about every suit has a wide enough stance that you can do some running if you need to.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 April 13, 2008 I totally agree. Don't waste your money. I haven't ever been in a situation where I had to use my LQRS.
VectorBoy 0 #4 April 13, 2008 Money and safety, years ago I needed to use the wing cut away asap. I grabbed one wing and of course the apposing leg release, They were pretty close to each other back then. I like having less handles to get in the way of reaching the important ones. jakee 1,596 #5 April 13, 2008 Most of the time I don't even bother unzipping the legs on my Phantom and land with the leg wing still on. Getting an LQRS for a Phantom would be a complete waste of time and money.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
iwasinkheson68 0 #6 April 14, 2008 cool, thanks for your responses; no cutaway it is. mike
BenediktDE 2 #7 May 13, 2008 I landed my reserve with the booties still on and did not even notice the wing when landing. Some BM suits have narrower wings (e.g. Firebird) where I would brefere a let cutaway but not on the phantom. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
