madyuck 0 #1 October 29, 2003 I am looking to get new gear, but i have no clue what to get. I have been reading reviews on a lot of gear but still don't know what to get. I currently have 47 jumps a weigh about 205 out the door. I am currently jumping a navigator 220 and I have no problem landing or flying it. If anyone could give me suggestions on what main to get and what container to get that would be great.-Jeff
AggieDave 6 #2 October 29, 2003 Have you talked to your former instructors/S&TA/experienced jumpers at your DZ? If not, then those should be the first people you talk to. They'll help you out with canopy choices for sure! As for rigs, basically the big name manufactures all have good rigs out there, find out what a lot of folks jump at your DZ and why. Also, find out if the local rigger is used to packing the type of rig that you're planning on getting (it sometimes makes a difference). Basically, the overal moral of my story is to talk to people at your DZ that are experienced jumpers and experienced at helping newer jumpers with these decisions (such as the instructors). They'll help guide you in the right direction. Also, if you do a search, you'll find that the canopy and rig question has been covered many many times.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Chrisky 2 #3 October 29, 2003 If you have already read tons of reviews and posts, how do you think that answers here will help you? Seriously, talk to the people at your DZ and your instructors. Or wait with buying until you know what you want/what's out there. Edit: Btw, nice profile...The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ...
