im fat and fall fast....
i like the Mach 1 out of all the suits ive flown as far as flocking goes... it has the most lift out of any.
ive jumped V1, V2, Acro, Phantom, GTI, firebird, PHI, Prodigy, GTI, Nebula, and some of the other tony suits. They all have their + & - but for big guys flocking, big wings are the way to go. my $.02

I would only reccomend this suit if you are already profficient at flying WS. This is not a beginner suit. Learn on something smaller and gradually move up... just like anything else.

I'm not sure how your Austrialian friend can keep up with BM flying being 285 and nekid, but jumping the Prodigy I found that my fatass couldn't quite keep up with the others. I would account that to being unskilled, but I feel like that it would take a decent number of solos to get the skill level up before I could really hang with other BM. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Dave, I cannot verify Ryan's weight but he is indeed big and flies well. But he is also maxed out at all times (at least when I've flown with him). Here is a picture of him in that position.

Too bad you are stuck in Tejas, Dave. We have at least two bigger suits here that would fit you. Perhaps we will bring them to SkyFest next year. Or......you could drag your ass to FL.

Don't plan on Chuck showing up at Skyfest, he will say he is going to try to come and then remember about how Ted and I were still partying when he went to bed at 4am and he was not seen for 24hrs after that.
