charleslittle 0 #1 October 21, 2003 well, I just passed my AFF level 4 jump (finally) and I'm starting to get the feel of freefall. I'm feeling really good under the canopy and now I'm on my way to enjoying both halves of my skydives! The season is winding down here in the Midwest...as I travel the country I'd like to have my own gear to jump. I'm a Male, 5'11", 178lbs, and I've been jumping a 215 lately. I like the 215 but I can tell that I will outgrow it sooner than later. I don't think I'm ready for a lighting fast 170 or anything, but I'm thinking that a 190 should last me a while. Looking for any advice or links to good gear...new, used, I don't have a preference. I just want good reliable equipment and I have no time in the sport so I'm wide open for peoples opinions and recommendations. Rock on!"Life is a party...dance your way through it!" 174fps 1 #2 October 21, 2003 Start by finding a reliable rigger, someore you can trust. They often hear of good deals locally, you will need your gear checked and repacked once you get it. Also if you are dealing for gear riggers act as intermediary, holding gear till paid for, making sure the gear is as stated etc. Right here in classifieds is a good place to look. Ask your instructors what would be appropriate. Andrew
skybytch 273 #3 October 21, 2003 Lots of good info here. Do a search in this forum for "first rig", "first main", etc. There's lots of opinions already posted.
