beavdog 0 #1 October 17, 2003 Ive tried to psycho pack several times now, with no success. I have no problem with the initial flip and pulling the opposite corners. The problem comes when I make my folds to the center and try to roll. I can get my folds to look decent, but down my the slider, the end poofs out and it seems that my slider is creeping and likes are going everywhere. This problem just gets compounded when I start rolling the canopy up. Anyone have any suggestions? Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez..... skydivegirl 0 #2 October 17, 2003 I don't know if you're going to be able to visualize this but this is what I do: Once I've made my folds and am ready to role, I lay on the canopy & squish all the air out. Then I start to roll it as far as I can under my chest while still laying on it. Then while holding that role I jump up and put knee/shin on the length of the unrolled portion of the canopy. At this point no air can get in & I can continue rolling while moving my leg down when needed. If you do this right, the slider and everything else should stay in place and you should have a nice roll to put in the bag. I hope that helped.Pink Mafia Sis #
OzoneJunkie 0 #3 October 17, 2003 When I'm rolling, I don't push downward with the roll (I don't apply pressure to the unrolled portion) - almost like doing the roll in the air, but not quite. Keeps the slider, etc, in place. Also, leave a good 4 to 6 inches of canopy fabric past the grommets, when folding, before the roll. This helps, when you make the initial folds, as it keeps some extra fabric around the grommets, etc. EDIT: also, I push most of the air out before i lay the canopy down. I turn the canopy 180, then hold stuff in place (at the center of the canopy, opposite the lines) with one hand, and push the air out, etc with the other hand. Then lay it down. wmw999 2,562 #5 October 17, 2003 I roll and pull, too. Since the roll means that you'll end up with extra fabric on the "top" side, you have to compress that fabric so that it's even at the bottom. Jonsmann 0 #6 October 25, 2003 I place a knee on the slider grommets and tail while psycho packing. Keeps things in place. Also, you shouldn't roll the canopy, but rather fold it onto itself. If you roll, it will be a cylinder you put into a box shaped bag, won't fit well! When rolling the canopy the outermost part will be under tension, while the innermost part (inside the roll) will compress. This causes the tail to be pulled away from the slider grommets. If you really want to roll the canopy (instead of folding it onto itself) you should keep a knee on the slider grommets and make the roll loose. - Jacques
phoenixlpr 0 #7 October 27, 2003 It should be rolled if its Psycho Packing:) QuoteIf you roll, it will be a cylinder you put into a box shaped bag, won't fit well! And, it smaller than the box, at least it should be. Dont worry, it will inflate in the very moment you stop squeezing it.
nightjumps 1 #8 October 27, 2003 Quoteand make the roll loose. I disagree. Making the roll loose does not control the lines. The tighter, the better.
