Buried 0 #1 March 14, 2006 just noticed on bird-man.com today Quote7.3.2003 The famous an infamous PHI has been discontinued and taken off from BIRD-MAN line of wingsuits. We have not been able to guarantee the delivery time for these suits due to the manufacturing process that simply was not working out for us the way we thought it would thus we had to pull it out until further notice. wonder if it was because of the materials used and the ease of prep/ sewing? anyone know off hand if the factory they were made in still open? I hope that an updated Phi in some form or another comes back at some point. It did show it self to be an interesting design.. just not sure it worked how they expected it to.. Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?

jakee 1,596 #7 March 15, 2006 QuoteJust compare the specs of the Firebird-R with Phi's The Firebird-R is exactly the same as the Firebird but with Mylar ribs. It's not made of the Mistral material the Phi was, the design hasn't been changed to make it look any more like the Phi. They are completely different wingsuits.Do you want to have an ideagasm? tso-d_chris 0 #8 March 15, 2006 QuoteJust compare the specs of the Firebird-R with Phi's. The Firebird R is not an updated Phi. Bird-Man does expect to release an updated Phi in the future. For Great Deals on Gear
Buried 0 #9 March 15, 2006 QuoteJust compare the specs of the Firebird-R with Phi's. completely different suits.....have you actually seen both of them? QuoteI know of 5 Phi's for sale at a cheap price if you want one. maybe if they are less than 100$ Quote Bird-Man does expect to release an updated Phi in the future. cool. I'd be interesting to see what they expect to do to improve the suit. I just hope it's more than a mylar rib . Seems like it has more potential for growth out there than other suits on the market. when's the v2 coming out ,again? Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
