ernokaikkonen 0 #1 October 10, 2003 In the latest Paragear catalog, the manufacturers of this canopy state that Quote Our unique adjustable line configuration concept provides for either beginner or intermeidate version and an unbeatable investment. Does anyone know what this actually means? That you can get two different line sets for the canopy for different flight characteristics? Something else? phoenixlpr 0 #2 October 10, 2003 I was told, that you can have to line-sets. One student and one pro. So you can use it longer due to different trims.
BBKid 0 #3 October 10, 2003 Yeah, on the "basic" setup, the A and D lines are shorter than on the "pro" setup, thus giving the pro setting a flatter angle of attack (if that's what I mean), so it goes faster, and everything that is dependant on forward speed is affected accordingly. Chrisky 2 #4 October 11, 2003 Now if i'm not completely mistaken, you could also put in different lengths on the outer lines, giving a longer leverage on toggle input and thus a little less agility in turns (=less agressive)? Or am i wrong on this one? Experts please! The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ... Chrisky 2 #5 October 11, 2003 If you are looking for a canopy, i can also recommend their new canopy, the "Faqtor". Its a semielliptical with a good recovery arch and very docile when not flown agressively. If flown aggressively, it will give you steep dives and long swoooooooooops. I chose it over a sabre2 after having jumped both. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... blueshrew 0 #6 October 24, 2003 Do yourself a favour with another canopy. Although, the Germans west of the Rhein are very pro-Paratec (in a very strange way in fact), lots of good jumpers around here have turned down sponsoring offers from them when it comes to canopies. For the German Swooping Open all Paratec sponsored jumpers I talked to, said they wouldn't come with their current canopy (most couldn't afford to buy another one). On the other hand every canopy will get you back to the ground. It's just a matter of settling for less or not. I am going to be attacked by the the Paratec-Brain-Washies now
ernokaikkonen 0 #7 October 24, 2003 I'm not considering buying one, as I'm quite happy with my current canopy. I was just curious about the concept. Thanks to everyone who replied.
