Where can I buy such a case? (My shopping skills suck :)

I would say go to Wal-Mart or a similar store first as you might get one there. Big thing is to get one with a sewn belt loop and not the plastic clip that many of them come with. If you can't find one that way, I'd say go to http://www.gpscity.com/ or http://www.gilsson.com/

I know a store (but it is in Brazil) that sells a kind of signal repeater for use inside cars. It works as external antenna but for devices which don't have antenna attachment. I don't know the name of the product, neither where it is manufactured. But I'll get this info for you.

It's called a re-radiating antenna. I mentioned it a few posts up and how it is used. Excellent buy if you have signal issues. They are small enough to zip under your suit so you can take them with you and not leave it on the plane.

I wear my Vista on my chest strap and it still picks up satellites. I make sure to stand outside the aircraft(otter) after the last skydiver exits so I can reaquire sats before I exit. Ocassionaly, I will loose a bit of data on the top end but overall, I still get the meat of the flight.

Hm, have some trouble here to get it working properly.

Made 2 track-dives today and tryed to log them with my Vista.
Was siting in the back of a 206 Soloy and got good sat. signals the hole ride up.
I stowed it in the pocket on the side of my leg just 2 sec. before I exited the plane.

As the track is not broken, I guess, I had some kind of signal all the time, but see what I got.

On both jumps I didn't got any useful data from the dive, but both times it's was working again as soon as the canopy opened.

Any suggetions? :S

My guess is that was the reason for the spotty data. It's funny how sometimes you can get away with putting it in a pocket and other times you can't. That is one of the reasons I wear mine attched to my chest strap or on top of my helmet.

It looks like you have multiple tracks on that one screen shot. Also you have the plane ride data which is just distracting. Best bet is to turn the unit on, on the ground to acquire sats prior to boarding and then turn it off once inside the aircraft. Turn it back on prior to jump run, reacquire sats by the door and then go. your tracks will look a lot cleaner and there will be less trimming of the track afterwards. . How do you have your receiver set up to log tracks?
