manifest wingsuit rodeo dive

Recommended Posts

Manifesting should be as usual for the others involved. Out there(Eloy), the pilots are familiar with Birdman rodeos but I still give any pilot a courtesy heads up as to what I am doing. Most will give you a bit more altitude if they know and take you over the dead zone so there are no traffic issues with skydivers. The important part manifest plays is annotating the load sheet so the pilot knows he has a Birdman in the event the Birdman fails to notify the pilot of his prescence. Other than that, manifest is just keeping track of how many heads they have on the load and the turn time. Keeping the pilot informed is always a good thing.

I just conduct mine as a free fly jump as I know I won't be covering the distance I can get on a regular wing suit flight. We still go out last and fly a tighter pattern but I won't except a long spot. But when strictly wingsuiting it I request a very long spot. The pilots at our various dropzones are very helpful with this request for wing suits.

I think it's easyest to manifest/anounce it as a 'normal' tracking jump.
Since te distance traveled and freefall-time are probably about the same...?

Did my first Rodeo this weekend (this morning actualy).
Took a good (girl) friend along for a ride, and a budy along (as a normal 'tracker')...and had a blast!
Worked perfect! At 6000 ft, she waved off and let go (she spread her arms and legs, and she just flew off backward)..
I did a big slow U-Turn and then flew by her in the distance at 4500 ft as she was already under an open canopy....waayyy cool jump..
Have to repeat that next week with video :)
