leoholanda 0 #1 July 12, 2004 Does anyone knows the minimum vertical speed that timeout works? In my 4th wing jump my timeout didn't beep at the preset altitude. But I never did t again. But yesterday (my 13th wing jump) I found the position! Yes! I felt it! A really fast horizontal speed! And the timeout kept silent! I hope I can repeat it in the next jump. Btw, what is the most appropriate device to measure lowest vertical speed, jump time etc?Leo Holanda

I'm planning on trying out my Garmin Geko310 GPS unit as soon as we get some jumpable weather here.
LouDiamond 1 #3 July 12, 2004 pro-tracks stop at 119 secs, Neptunes keep on counting. For speeds your best bet is a GPS with a glide ratio and vert/horiz speed, The Etrex Vista and Garmin V work great. The best one I have seen used so far is the Garmin GPSMAP 295, which is an aviation specific GPS that runs around 1000.00 +/-."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
