peterpan 0 #1 March 14, 2004 Have just got it to flying birdman and are loving it. Did 10 about 3 years ago but move Dz and ran out of time (and Money) to do anymore. But bought a Birdman classic the other week and have done 8 or 9 jumps on it now, (and it F*#king rocks). But about what I wanted to know. The Matter winded suit, has anybody tried one out ? If so are the like, had a look on the site and they look quite different from most other suits is this right? Thank for your time see you in spain really soon.Regrets are just unfulfilled dreams
piisfish 140 #2 March 15, 2004 they are very different from the Birdman indeed. They just got (or are getting) the MTR2 out. have a look on www.flybirdman.com you might get more info there. But AFAIK very few people have tried the MTR2 till now. I have a FlyYourBody S-Fly (the one used by Loic in Soul Flyers) and it's just incredible. Well, I don't have a Birdman suit experience so I can't compare. The S-Fly is a 2year development of the Crossbow, and apparently the MTR1 is, from what I heard, a shallow copy of the same suit. Now, please nobody flame me, that's just what I heard. But I know people who own these suits and are not happy with them. They fly not too bad, till they brake.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Well while the MTR-1 is a derivitive of the original "Crossbow" design, it definately is an impovement in quality of materials and workmanship. You may be thinking of the suit being built by SOLOMON. The MTR-2 is an absolutly amazing design. The quality of construction is high as are the materials that go into it. I would put the construction on par with any of the other manufacturesr. The owner of the company (Cedric Dumont) has hand walked the product through design and production phases, and has been actively selling the suit in the European market for about 18 months now. It has gained quite a following. I am the US manager for Matter Clothing. I'd be happy to answer any questions that arise.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. VectorBoy 0 #4 March 16, 2004 All BS aside I have seen the matter 2 in use. It is a very amazing suit indeed. I would have to say its in a category all on its own in terms of a very fast, flat glide angle. Very impressive. Nothing like the original matter or S-fly, crossbow products have been reviewed. It will be at least a month until I get to demo one in my size. But I do know that most of the first production suits are in the hands of some base jumpers who have previous experience on S3s so you may get a fresh view review from the folks on that forum. I thought Loic's first suit was made by Parasport and called the 'Crossbow' , and his latest creation was the S-Fly suit which his own company 'Fly Your Body" produces. As far as I know, he is not manufacturing the suits himself, but subcontracting them.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
