gus 1 #1 November 20, 2003 I'd like to change my container (for one that actually fits!) and I didn't know whether Relative Workshop made Vector 3s with wingsuit mods so I sent them an email, here's what I got back: QuoteHi Gus, I will try to help you out as much as possible. The 'open corners' option - are you referring to the wing suit modification? If so, Yes we do manufacture the Vector 3 with the wing suit modifications, eg. Cut down corners, 9ft bridle, and wing suit d-bag with inbound stows. When I asked what the "wing suit d-bag with inbound stows" was I got another prompt reply: QuoteThe D-Bag no longer will need to be rotated as it has been designed in the way you will pack and close the container with it in the correct deployment position. The inbound stows is the position at which the bungies get attached to the d-bag. Conventional methods has it on the edges of the d-bag and the inbound is found on top of the d-bag roughly a 1/4 of the distance in. This means you have smaller line stows giving the bag a smoother deployment. Has anyone seen these mods in the flesh? What do you think? What do you think? Can't say I've seen the mods on a Vector 3 but at least two manufactures build their D-Bags standard with "inboard stows" (Mirage and Velocity Sports Equipment) and they work well. I've got 2000 jumps on the VSE bags and a few on the Mirage bags, and the bag is definately less likely to rotate with the stows inboard. Mirage also has a nice "split bag" (like an updated version) which seems to help things as their bag is tapered to fit the container.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
TB99 0 #3 November 20, 2003 I modified my D-Bag with inbound stows. My rigger did it for me in 10 minutes. That is the ONLY mod I have on my Vector. That mod alone made my wingsuit openings 150% better!! Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
