Wing Suit Instructors?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I've never tried a wing suit, but its something i want to do in the near future.

I'm heading to L.A on the 30th of Okt for some 4-way jumping at Elsinore. And i was wondering if there are any instructors in that area who might help me out...

I'm from Norway and here you need 500 jumps to try one. Currently i have 350ish jumps.

Any instructors in that area willing to take me up for a spin? :)
(I heard you only need 200 jumps to try one in the US, hope this is true)

Hei! Yes, it's true... you should have at least 200 jumps within the past 18 months (and be current) to do the BirdMan first flight course.

There are BM instructors at Elsinore, although I don't have their contact info to pass on to you. There may be a couple at Perris too. I'm a BMI (in Florida) and have met the guys out in Elsinore and Perris. There are a bunch of good flyers out there.

I'm wondering if we can find Vectorboy (who is often on this wingsuit forum) for his advice. He flies at Perris and may know who the local BMIs are. Hello Vectorboy.... you there... can you help this guy.

Or, you may want to email or phone the Elsinore DZ and ask who their BMIs are. You will also likely need to ask any BMI you find if they have a suit around that will fit you. If not, the BMI will have to rent from from BirdMan and have it shipped from DeLand, Fla.

Good luck and happy flights!

Ha det bra Cato!!!

Hi there Kim, I also don't have the elsinore BMIs contact info only their first name.

Diablo pilot is a BMI based at Perris and can be reached on this forum but Cato the bigger problem is getting a spare classic or GTI wing suit in your size available to borrow when you are here. Several people at Perris have extra suits or will loan their personal suits.

These dropzones definitely need a standing wingsuit demo program coupled with instruction. I get questions all the time about it.

If after meeting you, and assesing your awareness, and skill level, I find it tobe safe to do so, I would be happy to help you make your first BirdMan jump! At Perris or Elsinore.

PM me when you're headed this way!

You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

thanx for all the info guys. Looks like i'll be flying a wingsuit soon :)
I'll be in L.A soon, so i'll contact you JP. I'm about 6'0...i think... 185cm, 80-85kg.

Another question...Can i use my rig? Its a Odyssey
with Sabre2. Or do i need to borrow something else?

Bo: Vet ikke om jeg skal til beveren enda. Kanskje.

Have a great day!
