ManBird 0 #1 September 12, 2003 For those that keep saying that they want to get a wingsuit but can't afford one, you no longer have an excuse. An impressive list of stock and used suits is up at bird-man.com, some of which are severely under their retail value. murrays 0 #4 September 12, 2003 I called Bird-Man about the used GTI and it was already gone but Asaf told me Skydive Deland had some suits for sale, put me in touch with them and I bought a used Classic for $250 this morning. So, hopefully it will arrive before the snow flies and I'll get to put a few jumps on it. Should be a good enough way to start without putting a lot of $$ into a suit. Thanks Steve, I wouldn't have called if not for you-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 September 12, 2003 Note that all of the suits that Skydive DeLand have for sale are original classics. I checked them out last time I was down there. They are all in great shape.
ManBird 0 #6 September 12, 2003 NICE! As far the suit being an original Classic, the only difference is that there is one zipper, not two, so it's a little tougher to get on and off. However, you'll be one of the few people to have a BirdMan suit with the old logo. Very, very cool. Hell of a deal, too."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click
AggieDave 6 #7 September 13, 2003 That's cool, but I seriously doubt you'd have a suit that'd fit me...although I can dream... (Yes I looked, but without specific measurements for the chest/thighs/arms/etc I couldn't say if it would fit me).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #9 September 15, 2003 QuoteThere are some pretty big demo suits, Dave If I told you what size I would need, do you think you could snag one and bring it to Eloy to learn me some flock?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." PhreeZone 20 #10 September 15, 2003 From the looks of the webpage its all the demos that are for sale. I'd just buy a used one if it would fit you and hold onto it till you run into a BMI. I regret not doing the same.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AggieDave 6 #11 September 15, 2003 That's what I was saying in my first post, is that those are good deals, and I'd like to do that. The problem is I'm 6'1", 250-ish Lbs with a 50" chest, 18" arms, 18" neck, 29" thighs, etc. Not your average build. It looks like the only suits for sale on the webpage that would fit my build are for people that are around 6'6"... Looks like I'll just have to try to score a demo to jump at Eloy and continue to save my pennies for a custom suit.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." LouDiamond 1 #13 September 15, 2003 QuoteLooks like I'll just have to try to score a demo to jump at Eloy and continue to save my pennies for a custom suit. We should have one to fit you Dave. We saw every body size and shape at WFFC and we only turned 1 person away because we didn't have a suit that would fit him on hand. You very well may be able to buy a demo suit from Birdman towards the end of the boogie so bring your dinero or plastic."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Deuce 1 #14 September 15, 2003 QuoteHey! The Classic I looks like it would fit Tallguy. Did he ever order a suit? Yeah, Bill, TallGuy ordered an SF3 at the WFFC. He's really hoping it comes in time for the Boogie.
PhreeZone 20 #15 September 15, 2003 He's not the only one that ordered a suit at WFFC thats hoping it comes in soon. I'm starting to look up home addresses for my UPS drivers to make sure there are no traffic jams in they way so they can get me my suit I've got 3 people at my DZ looking at the used suits right now so I have a feeling they are going to go fast.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

BTW anyone here know Linda, the 6'4" Eloy jumper? If that woman got a wingsuit she'd break a lot of records. Maybe Betsy could sort of drop a hint or two. Deuce 1 #19 September 17, 2003 I gotta tell you. After doing some RW with the big guy, I can't wait to do the birdmand thing. Dude is huge, but really proportional. He doesn't fall any faster than anyone else, just way the f&ck bigger!
