pbla4024 0 #1 September 21, 2003 I have canopy Electra 150. Nice flight, nice openings but... Time to time I have slider hang up 30 centimeters above soft links. My rigger told me it will be OK after few jumps, but I have 80 jumps on it and problem is still there. Do somebody of you have same experience? Do you know how to solve it? andy2 0 #2 September 21, 2003 are the grommets stainless steel? Someone at my DZ told me if they arnt smooth stainless steel sometimes it will have more trouble sliding all the way down. Not to mention it will wear lines faster. Just a thought. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... xpug 0 #3 September 22, 2003 I've got an Electra 170 (130 jumps) and it happens occasionally. Since a few tugs on the rear risers brings it down, I've never thought anything of it, but I'm sure it sticks more often on very soft openings... I'm having my reserve repacked next week, so I'll ask my rigger about it...let you know if he has any answers.
pbla4024 0 #4 September 22, 2003 And how old is your Electra (DOM an number of jumps)? Thanks Fido
richclive 0 #5 September 22, 2003 I've got a 170 and have had that on 2 out of 100 jumps. It cleared both times after I unstowed the brakes and gave a couple of mild pumps on the lines. Hasn't happened since I started wearing my chest strap a little looser - not dangling around my knees, but with a couple of inches of slack in it. It could be that this helps sread the lines a little more to help bring it down.

xpug 0 #7 October 1, 2003 Asked my rigger yesterday - there is no real reason - as with all canopies, this sometimes happens. E.g. if the end cells are a bit mushy on opening, then there is not sufficient force to spread the lines and push it down. It is just one of those 'nuisance factors'...use rear risers to free it! pbla4024 0 #8 October 1, 2003 And what is your wing load? Mine is about 1.1 (I'm small boy). Fido
czechbase 0 #9 October 1, 2003 I get this problem as well. Some say that my slider is a bit big for my canopy and I have been advised to cut a small hole in the center to bring it down faster after opening. I am worried after a few uses the hole would get bigger and bigger? Anyone any comments? Matthewwww.motavi.com
