How much performance is lost without booties?

I got a smoke bracket in this week with the intent of eventually jumping smoke with birdman.. only problem is because of the design of the bracket (it comes over the top of your shoe) and because my booties are so tight, there is no way for the bracket to go over the bootie. When I put the bootie over the bracket, the bracket can still be cut away just not as easily. So the solution to this is to fold the booties up into the leg and not use them. My first birdman flight was like this because the suit was too small for me.. I know the suit can be flown without booties, just curious how much performance loss to expect.
