Packing volume for Sabre2 and Crossfire2

Recommended Posts

There are no packing volume charts out for the Sabre2.
Pack volume figures can be very distorted (if you want to read more about that, check out PD's website http://www.performancedesigns.com/education.asp - click on "Mystery of Pack Volume").

I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the container you plan to use, they can tell you exactly what fits where.
Many of them have their sizing charts listed on their website.

***Hi Yves,

You can find a packvolume chart on the Icarus Canopies website for all the models.

For the Crossfire 2 look at: http://www.icaruscanopies.com/canopies/Crossfire/index.htm (bottom of page)

As Kolla mentioned already, check with your rig manufacturer as well and find matching sizes.

good luck,

Joris.

Bringing back a dead thread because it's the exact same question I want to ask.

How do "equivalently sized" crossfire2's compare to sabre2's for pack volume? I don't need some number in cubic inches, what I'm ideally looking for is a general agreement from people who have packed both into the same container and say "the [whatever] packs [a little, some, a lot] [smaller, larger] than the [other one]"

can anyone hook me up with said knowledge? If it really matters, I'm interested in a crossfire2-169 compared to a sabre2-170.

Bonus good karma will be given to anyone who can also compare the pack volumes of these two canopies to Stiletto 170s and Safire2 169s. Thanks much.

I used to jump a Sabre2 120 and packed a Crossfire2 119 in to that rig a few times. I barely noticed any difference in pack volume. If anything, I'd say the Crossfire2 packed up a tiny bit smaller but they seemed almost identical.
