DJL 235 #1 July 2, 2003 So, your bigway just turned into a ball of shit with 8 canopies tied together. Everyone communicates and begins to exit in an orderly fashion. You're in freefall now with the canopy ball above you and people still breaking free. My thought is tht I would track the same as I would when breaking from a regular jump but would go to the reserve as soon as a I could. I haven't seen any discussion on this so I thought I'd bring it up. What do you do after breaking from a big entanglement?"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
crwmike 0 #2 July 2, 2003 Excellent point! If you have the altitude, at least 10 sec before popping the reserve. By all means track. Still got altitude? track some more! Don't be in such a hurry to open the reserve, another entanglement at this point could rain on your whole day. faulknerwn 38 #3 July 2, 2003 Absolutely track away. I had one cutaway a couple of years ago where I knew there was at least 4 of us who were going to be cutting away - I chopped first I think and tracked like a banchee. A couple of thousand feet later I opened my reserve after a really good wave off and look over my shoulder :-) W
