boinky 0 #1 May 4, 2003 Hi all, I was wondering if someone could tell this little CReWpuppy how I could find more information/history on Nasser (sp?) toggles? CRWBUDDHA 0 #2 May 4, 2003 Suggest you contact WWW. DiamondQuest.org, then click on the B>O>D link and then contact either Rich or Frank for Nasser's current address...... Technically they were an additional line that ran from the front riser up to the 2 most outboard A line attachment points. The idea was that if you pull on this line, you could induce positive pressure on the outboard nose without creating a diving action similar to that of a front riser pressure. Some even thought it advantageous in trimming a wing without using a whole riser. Then many found no benefit at all. On a positive note, it was an attempt to refine theshape of an inflight airfoil for maximum efficiency while flying in formation. It helped to learn about how canopies interact with eachother while in flight however like anything else in an Engineering investigation, the outcome can only be evaluated if the input is coordinated. boinky 0 #3 May 5, 2003 Thank you for your response. Your reply did not sound like you care for them. Are they being used currently in CReW work? If so, are they used in competitions and record attempts? Thanks, NinaNina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? Most people on Lightnings who want assists just a 2-1 assist system instead of Nasirs. Makes it a lot easier to swap out risers as well.
chuckbrown 0 #5 May 5, 2003 i had nassirs put on a triathalon hybrid 175, but i use them so infrequently that if i had to do it over again i wouldn't put them on. plus, when packing you have to pay close attention to the outside A lines or you can get a tension knot in them (correctable by pulling down on the nassir, but why put up with the hassle). btw, wendy i can't get your webpage anymore (it was on my favorites list). did you change the address?
