if you have one on your rig, and you do, obviously, it's living where it needs to if you don't wan't it functional for whatever the reason(s). excellent post!

This is the checklist I use:

Check the 3-Ring release system for the following.
1. Each ring passes through only one other ring.
2. The white loop passes through only the small ring.
3. The white loop passes through the grommet on the
end of the cable housing without twisting.
4. Nothing passes through the white loop except the
yellow cable.
5. The 3-Ring release handle is securely stuck to the
harness, and no more than 1/2” of the cable is
visible between the handle and the cable housings.

I was told it's lavendar or magenta or something. All I know is it's not technically pink.
Here's another question... I know it's gonna vary by conditions, but what's a typical number of jumps a canopy needs to have on it so that its lost some slipperiness and is easier to pack?
