pilotdave 0 #1 August 29, 2003 Just attached a demo spectre 135 to my container. Never attached a main myself before. Everything LOOKED normal when I packed it (except for a couple of missing cells Dave
Jimbo 0 #2 August 29, 2003 QuoteThere's no RSL ring on the demo risers, so i hooked the RSL to the cutaway housing. Is that the best place for it? That's fine, it's where mine lives, for now. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
Kolla 0 #3 August 29, 2003 To be on the safe side, get a good gear check from someone trustworthy before you go jump - enjoy the demo Blue ones, KollaBlue Skies Magazine
rgoper 0 #4 August 29, 2003 Quotei hooked the RSL to the cutaway housing. Is that the best place for it? if you have one on your rig, and you do, obviously, it's living where it needs to if you don't wan't it functional for whatever the reason(s). excellent post! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
spidermonky 0 #5 August 29, 2003 This is the checklist I use: -- Check the 3-Ring release system for the following. 1. Each ring passes through only one other ring. 2. The white loop passes through only the small ring. 3. The white loop passes through the grommet on the end of the cable housing without twisting. 4. Nothing passes through the white loop except the yellow cable. 5. The 3-Ring release handle is securely stuck to the harness, and no more than 1/2” of the cable is visible between the handle and the cable housings. sducoach 0 #6 August 29, 2003 Stole this from an old guy named Glenn. Big Middle Little String Yellow thing. Big, middle ring and only middle ring goes through. Middle, little ring and only little ring goes through. Little, string and only string goes through. String, the yellow thing and only the yellow thing goes through. Yellow thing, goes through the string Helps students recall what they are supposed to be checking. Pic looks okay however, follow Kolla's advise gear check before you go and before the door. Enjoy the Spectre, I just bought my second one. Blues, J.E.James 4:
mjosparky 4 #7 August 29, 2003 If you are not sure, take it to a rigger. Better yet, get a rigger to go over how to hook it up step by step. jmoMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
mr2mk1g 10 #8 August 29, 2003 looks perfect... Also - now I can tell my friend he's not the only man in the world to be jumping a rig with Cranburry tape
Tonto 1 #9 August 29, 2003 Rymes nicely... but there's no mention of the grommet at the end of the cutaway housing... tIt's the year of the Pig.
pilotdave 0 #10 August 29, 2003 I was told it's lavendar or magenta or something. All I know is it's not technically pink. Here's another question... I know it's gonna vary by conditions, but what's a typical number of jumps a canopy needs to have on it so that its lost some slipperiness and is easier to pack? twnsnd 1 #12 August 29, 2003 I don't know man, but I would take that half twist out of the loop. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-
