elias123 0 #1 October 26, 2008 Hi, I'm doing mainly tracking jumps lately. Mostly because I love it, because it's an important skill, because I think it's good training for when your going to jump a wingsuit one day, and because when I might get into base in the (far away) future, I would want my tracking skills to be good and solid. My question is: When you are skydiving, what is considered a good result concerning horizontal distance covered on a track? I'm 140ish pounds out the door and am 5ft8. If I jump from 13000 ft and open at 4000ft, what distance should I be able to cover with a normal FF pants and a sweater? And how about with a tracking suit or RW suit? I have a garmin GPS and can see what distance I travel, but I have nothing or no-one to compare my tracks with. so I don't really know if the results I am getting are good. Thanks in advance! dragon2 2 #2 October 26, 2008 More important than distance is awareness: where's jumprun, which way should i be going and where AM I going, where do I want to end up, where's everybody else. Also, tracking jumps don't necessarily mean much when starting wingsuiting, especially solos. I'd rather see you try some sitflying (ie, get very unstable for a few jumps) and do a lot of belly group dives so you learn how to take docks in control and do some jumps where you are a diver, to learn how to approach a formation without taking them out and without zooming. ciel bleu, Saskia
