cleaning velcro?

Recommended Posts

You know what I mean, little bits of whatnot, hair, dust, etc, gets caught in the hook part of the velcro. Is there anything I can do to clean it besides just manually plucking it from the velcro (pretty time consuming). I'm not against doing that, if that will give me a little additional strength to my velcro, why not....

thanks

ok, thanks buddy, thats what I was using, a dullish needle. I was just being anal though cause I doubt it seriously or even at all effects the velcro's performance.

Heres a better idea. Try using another piece of hook velcro. just scrape it on the clogged peice of hook and all the crap thats stuck on the peice of hook you want cleaned comes right out.Works great

THANK YOU Thank you ... says the old style Racer owner. New velcro picks up crap like nobody's business and still sticks. Old velcro picks up stuff and DOESN'T stick anymore. This trick ranks right up there with using a pullup cord to remove broken stow bands. I forget who that one goes out to but it was a dropzone.com thing ('carefully' saw back and forth with a pullup under the broken band and it will disintegrate and/or pop off)
