ColdDuck 0 #1 August 21, 2003 I just got my brand new G4 with the Unisyn harness, it only has three jumps on it. My previous rig was a used G3. My new rig does not feel that comfortable compared to my old one. I can't tighten the legstraps all the way because if I do the rig is downright uncomfortable. It also feels like the MLW might be a little to short. Is this common for a rig to be uncomfortable at first? I plan on speaking with someone at Mirage tomorrow but I wanted to hear from you all first. Would this be an easy fix for them? skygod7777 0 #2 August 21, 2003 i have had many new rigs (i started jumping on my own when i was 11 so i grew out of a few) and i haven't ever had one be unconfortalbe. stiff, yes, but still confortable. i would call mirage, and tell them. more than likely they will have you get re-measured, and then they will check with what they have, if it's off, then they'll have you send the rig back, and they should fix it for free. later

johnny1488 1 #4 August 21, 2003 My buddy's g4 was never as comfortable as his g3. He is getting a new rig and is gonna make it another g3. I jump an odyssey and have never had a problem. I was a bit leary of geting my new rig so I just gave them the serial# and are having them duplicate it for my new rig. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" rmsmith 1 #6 August 21, 2003 QuoteIt also feels like the MLW might be a little to short. Is this common for a rig to be uncomfortable at first? You are probably right in that your MLW is too short. A typical problem associated with a MLW that is too short is the leg straps constantly becoming loose on the ride to altitude. If your leg straps become loose when you bend over then the MLW is too short, IMHO.

andy2 0 #8 August 22, 2003 tell us little guys what mirage said, I'd be curious to know as in a year I'll be shopping for a NICE NEW container and would appreciate knowing running knowledge of the company's customer service. betzilla 56 #10 August 22, 2003 My Micron felt like a slab of plywood on my back at first. But the harness was juicy and wonderful. It even made me look skinny. Double check your measurements (go to the Mirage website for measuring directions). The person who measured you may have made a mistake, or Mirage may have made a mistake. Or your harness might be perfect, and you're not used to gear that fits... Mirage has super customer service, so they'll most likely work with you on it until you're happy. FallinWoman 1 #11 August 23, 2003 My Mirage G3 was completely comfortable when I got it. If there is a problem, call Mirage. It is possible that you were measured wrong, or the rig was made incorrectly. I don't think a new rig should be uncomfortable if it was made for you! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!! jmfreefly 0 #12 August 25, 2003 My new Wings container gave me the same worry, even though they used the same measurements from my first. After 20-30 jumps, it has 'loosened up a bit' and fits much much better. The container was stiff as H3ll when I first got it, and the long riser covers need some flexibility before the rig will hug you the way it needs to. From what I have seen of the G3vs.G4, this is probably a similar issue. If the top of the rig doesnt sit close to your back, and the riser covers don't have any curve, then I think the rig will feel like the MLW is too small. Once the initial stiffness leaves, my guess is it would fit better. j
