GeorgeOrwell 0 #1 August 20, 2003 Hi All I'm selling my sabre2 190 to a friend at the DZ as soon as my 170 comes in. I promised I would sell it to them at a good price. Just wanted to know from you guys and gals what you think a good price is. It has 78 jumps on it. -------------------------------------------------- If your not jumping your not living LEARN TO LIVE (L2L)
Blahr 0 #2 August 20, 2003 One school of thought says it devalues 20% off right away for being used, and then $1 per jump thats on the canopy. So, if you paid $1500.00 (for example) the resale value would be $1122.00 Theoretically
storm1977 0 #3 August 20, 2003 It's worth more, but I'll give you $300 right now for it. I may turn around and sell it for a grand though (Which is still cheap) and pull a nice profit! Merely stating what I have been told That said, I wouldnt buy a canopy with 2000 jumps on it and I dont think many people would. That would tend to vindicate the formula because if nobody would buy it, its not worth anything
skymedic 0 #7 August 21, 2003 I know several people that jump 2000 plus jump canopies...stilletto's, sabre1's...there is nothing wrong with them...as long as they are relined obviously. and I'd have no problem with that. there are several PD sponsered teams who have these kind of jumps on there canopies. they still work great. Blahr 0 #8 August 21, 2003 Yes, but would you BUY a canopy with that many jumps on it? If my main is still in good shape at 2000 I might still jump it, but I wouldnt BUY one with that many.
skymedic 0 #9 August 21, 2003 I would absolutely buy one....with out question. as long as it was maintained well amount of patches isn't out of control...and most importantly the center cell doesn't have too much sweat damage(this is usualy the cell the replace after a couple thousand jumps on there mains...packer sweat is a bitch on nylon... Hazarrd 1 #10 August 21, 2003 If it's in good condition you should be able to get around $1200 for it. I was looking for a Sabre2 170 about a month ago and found only 1 used one for sale. I opted to just by a new one since I was only saving a couple hundred bucks. From what I've heard, Sabre 2's (150-190) are in high demand for beginners since they are such great canopies. Good luck. .-.
