Sabre1Lucke 0 #1 February 23, 2005 Question: Is it forbidden to use the chest-belt as grip if you do a hybride-jump? To explain what I mean you can take a look at: http://www.valschermsport.be/ (The picture will not stay there very long) or http://www.blokki.be (under 'la gallería') Someone told me that the stitching from the chest-belt is not bild for this and the same for the buckles. Can somebody with a good knowledge of rigs tell me if this is true? Greetz, Lucke
nacmacfeegle 0 #2 February 23, 2005 You need to be more precise with your picture links. Do you mean like this?... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Personal_Galleries/TommyB&image=minihybrid.jpg&img=0&search=hybrid&cat=all&tt=&bool= As far as I am aware, there is no reason not to use a chest strap as a grip, people have been doing it for years. Think RW launches.... I'm not a rigger though, and I've only done a few hybrids-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. rsibbald 0 #3 February 23, 2005 Have your rig looked at by a qualified rigger and get them to see if it's suitable. As long as the equipment is sound then there shouldn't be a problem. But bear in mind, because of the difference in fall rate, you may have the entire person's body weight pulling on your chest strap, not just a casual finger grip like in RW.
