Dutton 0 #1 January 8, 2005 I see an article has been posted on "Stretching for Freeflying". Its time to start doing something else, I guess. First it was $200 ratings. Then you had to have a $200 jumpsuit. Now you have to stretch. Ughhh.
fuga 0 #2 January 8, 2005 No one said you have to stretch. I know people who have had injuries from freeflying and people who find some things difficult because they are not supple enough. Its just there if you want to and if you do it can make some things in freeflying easier. It all depends on what your goals are for freeflying. Just want to do some fun jumps? Or get to be the best you can be in freeflying?.
weegegirl 2 #3 January 8, 2005 I always find that I perform better in the air if I start the day with a nice stretch. Zoter 0 #16 January 9, 2005 QuoteFreefly is not free anymore... I say its as free as you want it to be.... I can honestly say I have absolutely no problem manifesting for a solo.....jumping out and freeflying.....doing my own thing....and absolutely lovin' it.! I do have to say that I found solo flat flys very boring...but since I started freeflying....thats never the case. Sure its nice to jump with friends in a group.....but If its total freedom you want ......forget dive plans...pre /post jump briefs....politics.....any pressure...and the sniggering masses who think jumping solo is a waste......go out and do your thang! piisfish 140 #17 January 9, 2005 try and fly grips on your own... That's freeflying... Grab a foot and fly it. Get in strange positions... Learn to fly in different ways. When I said freefly wasn't free anymore, it was a joke... VRW4 is a structure, but brings and gives incredible skills. Some people just see the "academic" side of it.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

cutaway1 3 #19 January 9, 2005 In my opinion, freeflying is the coolest thing going. I find that people who are opposed to freeflying, who do not even attempt it are for the most part afraid of starting a new discipline and starting over, and looking silly, like a beginner. I love RW and did it for decades, about 5 years ago I started freefly, and couldn't do anything right, after hundreds of jumps I could finally sit fly pretty well, it was alot of fun work, and very rewarding, and I'm having a blast. Freeflying is where RW was in the early 70's, we haven't even began to approach the limits of whats possible, that's why it is so exciting. So if you haven't attempted it, I encourage you not to fear trying something new, it's fun to start over, and to learn, big rewards of pleasure come from making steady progress, so jump in, you may be surprised about how much fun you can have. All the best, TimSCR-
