fuga 0 #1 December 29, 2004 What hand signals have you seen used, or do you use when coaching people? Just wandered what different signals people use. Thanks.
WrongWay 0 #2 December 29, 2004 *Thumb to forefinger/ok sign* - Okay/good *Hand flat as if to stop someone from bumping into you* - Stop/stay still *Peace sign/two fingers extended*- Check legs/stronger legs *Fist with thumb and pinky out*- Check arms *Fist with thumb and pinky out upside down and rotated over 180 degrees*- Transition from sit to head down/vice versa *Shaking the hand very loosely*- Relax *Pat the chest* - Check your torso *Hand straight up and fingers together (student sees the pinky side of hand straight)*- Check vertical axis *Pat the mouth* - Breathe *Hand flat*- Go flat/to your belly (mainly for emergency/malfunction purposes such as a riser out, etc.) The rest is common sense I think....motion to come towards you is towards, away is away, present a dock for docks, stir a pot upside down for a 360, stir a pot sideways for cartwheel, etc. etc. etc. Fwiw, I have a bunch of coached dives, and though certain signals may vary from coach to coach, those seem to be the most commonly used signals. Hope this helps!! Wrong Way D #27371 Mal Manera Rodriguez Cajun Chicken Ø Hellfish #451 The wiser wolf prevails.
78RATS 0 #3 December 30, 2004 For emergencies, I use two arms crossed over the chest to form a huge "X". Stole this from Monkey Claw. Very clear signal and not likely to be confused or misinterpreted. Rat for Life - Fly till I die When them stupid ass bitches ask why

Roy I have heard of the middle finger salute, but that can easily be misinterpretted. People flip each other off in freefall all the time. I was taught the crossed arms "X" by total body pilot, and use it myself, although fortunately, I've never needed to.
