so I m working on my sit fly...

Recommended Posts

I have been told several different methods of accomplishing this; knees together, arms higher than horizonatal, to just launch it in a sit but to the prop blast be in a 90 degree position and go with it, figure out what makes you stable and how to stay table. So Im coming to ya'll to get a general concensis of the correct way to teach myself to sit fly...thnaks!

I'm pretty sure it was just the last issue of Parachutist that had the article on How to Learn to Sitfly. Wherever it is, find it. It was well written and better than any of us nutcasees can babble out in a few minutes here. Also, if you run a search in this forum you will find about 200 threads on the same thing. :S:P

Good luck. Use the force. B|

I think it is very difficult to "teach yourself to sitfly". I would recommend getting a coach to learn the basics and then practice what you've learned from the coach. I learned to sitfly in the tunnel and then practiced in the air. I tried it in the air before the tunnel training and totally sucked, tried it in the air after the tunnel training and was able to hold it longer, but still need a lot of practice. The article in the November Parachutist is great. If you don't have a tunnel or coaches available you can get really good tips from that article. Good luck!!

Before you start, make sure you have FF friendly gear.

Go talk with coaches, and also instructors. I would personally advice about getting more RW skills, before, but it is your choice. Please seek advice at your DZ from a competent source.

Be safe and blue skies.
