Jskydiver22 0 #1 October 3, 2004 Well it was the first time that i stood on a hybrid and it actually went pretty well for the first time. I kind of had a little trouble gettin under but once i was there...i was there. I told myself not to look up, but i did anyways and arched, which made me flip out. I love doing hybrids because our dropzone is mainly belly flyers and it gives us a chance to show them a little about freeflying. So...any tips on what to do or how to get better at it? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
LoudDan 0 #2 October 3, 2004 Learn to sitfly and standfly better before attempting to latch on to someone and transition. You should be proficient at sitflying and standflying with other people before trying to be a hanger on a hybrid. A lot can go wrong, and the hanger can seriously hurt the other participants if he/she can not control their body while hanging. Simply looking up should not make you cork out. Get some coaching dude. Be safe. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!
Jskydiver22 0 #3 October 4, 2004 I am pretty good at sitflying and standing. I didnt really cork out, (when i stated that i kind of flipped out, it didnt actually mean it like it sounds) I basicaly just had to go back into a sit and kind of wabbled. I think that i am safe and take things slow. I was with someone that had 1000 plus jumps who had jumped with me quite a bit. If he didnt think I wasnt good enough, he wouldnt have went. I do feel that i am safe and the 2 people that i was with had a pretty good time. If i felt that in any way i was going to hurt those two people, i would never have done it. O and the part about looking up is that the 2 way above was kind of turning a little bit and i was geeking them a little too much i think and i may have arched a little, but i didnt completely flip out of my stand, just wabbled a little and went back into a sit. I also know someone that had 3000 plus jumps and was a pretty good sitflyer and standflyer that on his first hybrid corked out a little. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--

Mixoligist 0 #5 October 7, 2004 Smooth transition, strong arms & fly your hips. Be aware and discuss break off procedures. Low expeirence free-flyers should not hang or try to dock on a hybrid. Dirtdiving is VERY important Have fun. thats my .02.................................. Better you than me ..................................
