pony 0 #1 May 12, 2004 I am an australian jumper. I lead a head up atmonauti at a boogie we have over here called the funny farm boogie. I was just wondering if many people are doing this besides Frick Atmonauti. Everyone on the jump said it was the best they had seen and these are world class jumpers. I was pretty much layed out on my back and everyone was "naughting" it up around me. What is peoples feed back on this?
WrongWay 0 #2 May 12, 2004 I've never done atmonauti simply because not a lot of people around here have experimented with it. I really would like to try it though. skydiven4fun 0 #4 May 12, 2004 We ( Some of the freeflyers at our D/Z ) have begun doing it towards the end of the dive. It's a great way to end a head down dive. ( Last couple of thousand feet before break Off ). and it is cool as shit.Still here after all these years Clayton

supafly 0 #6 May 12, 2004 Check out http://www.atmonauti.com/. Another thread recently pointed to this site. I was always confused about the difference between atmonauti and a steep track, but thats all cleared up now. Atmonauti is a whole different way of flying. Now if I could only do it...Arizona Drive 4-Way VFS - www.DriveVFS.com
freeflyswc 0 #7 May 13, 2004 I was down in Florida this winter doing alot of atmonouti with a guy named Mike Wittenberg from team Loki . We were doing some head up atmo. But we would take turns leading in a heavy backslide (basically feet first on belly) We tryed to hang 10 (on back) with it , but it got too slow vertically and fast horizontal to keep up
apoil 0 #8 May 14, 2004 QuoteAtmonauti is a whole different way of flying. It's fun, but come on, flying is flying. The first time most accomplished freefliers attempt it they do a pretty passable job. That's because it's familiar to them and therefore not "a whole new way of flying"
supafly 0 #9 May 14, 2004 I'm a beginning and very UNaccomplished freeflier. Therefore, everything seems comepletely new to me. But, you're right in the sense that the goal should be flying the body regardless of orientation. I should have stated myself differently. The atmonauti style, or set of orientations, is simply that...a set of orientations.Arizona Drive 4-Way VFS - www.DriveVFS.com
