Hummusx 0 #1 April 7, 2004 This will be my second year of skydiving and I'm planning to start in on freeflying. Obviously I don't want to wear my RW suit when I'm learning to sit, but I'm not sure what route I should go for a new suit. I like the idea of a two piece freefly suit, but I have no idea if there would be a reason I want a single piece suit instead. I see a number of people at our dropzone doing the no-suit thing too. Anyway, looking for any and all feedback. Thanks! ____________________________________ It’s like selling a million grills all at the same time…with extended warranties. -Hank Hill
mrhoop 0 #2 April 8, 2004 I wear a one piece suit from Firefly. I recommend wearing a suit for someone just getting started to help with fall rate. If I jump without my suit I can only slow down in a sit to about 155mph which is to fast when jumping with smaller guys, and most chics. With my suit I usually fall around 145mph, which makes it easier for me to jump with smaller, and lighter jumpers.
katiebear21 0 #3 April 8, 2004 I started wearing running pantz or my birdman pantz with a baggy shirt. That gave me time to check out other FF'ers to see what kind of suit I'd really want. I got stable in a sit just fine w/out a suit and have now decided to go with some Freakin' Pants and a 1-peice Ouragan Suit. freeflyguy 0 #4 April 8, 2004 You'd be better off in the baggy shirt, tight blue jean kinda thing to learn to sit. If you have a coach, he won't have fall rate issues, but will get you up to speed on technique. Plus, you will be doing solo's, fall rate isn't an issue there. If you buy a full suit now, you may buy the wrong one, too baggy or too tight. When you get better, you will see how your body type, weight, style works with others. Then you will be better able to tell what kind of suit will work for you, for the next couple years. ---------------------------- bzzzz
