blazingcannon 0 #1 August 26, 2002 Anyone got any tips in the following? -Starting off leading headdown flocking dives. (Just got my AD, now people are expecting me to load organize! It's funny.) Also, Indy 500 / Carving. - I'm finding I pop up on the turns around the pylons ie. how to be really fast, yet stay on level with the pylons...is it just a matter of going slower? or maybe start the push forward, be in a "straight down" position as the momentum carries you to the next pylon, then lean back into the carve and get small? FreeflyGoat 0 #2 August 26, 2002 Quote -Starting off leading headdown flocking dives. 1.Preplan your flocking route relative to jumprun and other groups of jumpers. Verify that path when you stick your head out the door. Stick to that path and know where you are going to whole time. It is very easy to cover lots of sky and interfere with other groups. As an organizer and leader you now take on responsibility for the safety of your entire group. 2.Once everybody is out, stable, and facing you; start out with a slow backwards movement to make sure everybody knows you're starting and dont leave anybody in the dust. Then gradually increase backward movement untill you got a good flock going. You can look at the body position of the followers to get a good idea at how steep you are going. 3.Plan breakoff. Nobody turns or backs to track 180!!! You have people coming from behind at high rates of speed. 4.Keep these to small groups. Lower them and you will go faster.
