Newbie 0 #1 August 8, 2002 as in what type of flying? Im fairly new to the sport (so someone please correct me if im wrong) but im going on the basis that free flying only properly emerged as a style in its own right circa 1995? Cheers! skybytch 273 #4 August 20, 2002 I think the majority of people posting here weren't jumping pre-1995. Personally, I was doing RW, freestyle, CRW and instructing.

Shotgun 1 #7 August 24, 2002 Since I didn't like doing RW (let me rephrase that - since I had so much trouble doing RW that it just wasn't fun for me) I did a lot of solo jumps or 2-ways that involved trying all kinds of crazy positions - definitely tried the sit, stand, and headdown positions even though we had never heard of freeflying. Did some rodeo jumps and double cannonball exits and attempted Mr.Bill jumps - this was all back in 1991-92 - but basically if you weren't into RW back then there weren't too many people to jump with, so I eventually got bored (and ran out of money cause I was a broke kid) and quit jumping. Just started again a couple of years ago and was very happy to see that lots of people are freeflying now.
 outlawphx 1 #10 September 6, 2002 I was doing RW and some sit flying. I was at Eloy from 92-96. I remember Olav and Omar trying to do a two way vertical accordian in 94-95, and they made tons of jumps trying to pull that one off. I quit skydiving in 96, because I got bored of RW. I'm just now looking at getting back into it. I was amazed to see how good everyone has gotten at freeflying, because when I quit people we just happy to fly head down or standing near one another. Now there's a freakin USPA freefly award for things no one could do back then... Now I can't wait to get back to jumping, so I'm planning a recertification jump this month. Geez... I feel like an old timer. I started jumping when I was 15 in 91.
