fedykin 0 #1 July 12, 2002 what does everyone think is the best method for developing your skills(ideally doing back to back coach jumps for a year, but that really isn't economically viable for the bulk of us). Do you think for head down, a solid day of coaching then a week practicing with a mate, then a coach jump a day or whenever u cant figure something out or have problems or need refinement. im think about doing a solid day of coaching(7-8 jumps)then a week of practicing with 1 coach jump a day, what does everyone think is best? geanky 0 #2 July 12, 2002 A day of solid coaching would be just great but remember that the new things that you learn have to be practiced so that they get into your system and you feel comfortable doing them. In my opinion 2 ways with someone of a similar skill level will help you improve a lot. Every once in a while it is good to do some coach jumps but remember that what is going to make you better is good quality practice whether it be with a coach or just one of your mates. freeflir29 0 #3 July 12, 2002 Of course, if you make it near Skydive Atlanta anytime soon you can jump with a World Space Games competitor FOR FREE!! He has brought me from barely being able to dock to doing 3 Eagles, a dock, and 1 transition on a single dive. A low one at that from 11,500 because of cloud cover. I think it's good to get new skills comfortable with a coach and then go out and practice with your friends that you might have to chase a little. Mix it up and remember to smile!!! IMGR2 0 #4 July 13, 2002 There is a group of us that is doing just that at Skydive Houston. We tagged ourselves the 3-D Academy. We are offering free entry level jumps and for further training we have negotiated with the dzo for $30 and it includes both slots video and debrief. BTW I am also a Space Games competitor, US Nationals competitor, and a participant in Project Horizon(Big-Way VRW Skills Camp) So for anyone who is interested feel free to stop off in Waller and visit with us. And maybe even participate in another one of our pool parties. Just ask Tequila Girl about that one.... Big Wayz and Blu Skyz
