78RATS 0 #1 June 30, 2002 what is the best way to launch a six-way base (4 belly/two hangers) out of an otter? what is the key to hanging? I can sit and stand but find hanging kinda washy because of the lack of pressure from underneath. ramon 0 #2 July 1, 2002 minimal leg drag does make hanging easier for me personally (I don't wear my big freefly suit, rather pants or less baggy item)I will let others elaborate on best exit."Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce. Rachill 0 #4 July 1, 2002 Ramon is right, less drag on your legs helps a lot! I usually go into a sit first to get "situated" and stable, then I go into a stand. If I get a little unstable, I pull my legs up, back into a sit. And I don't know about anyone else, but when I first started doing hybrids, I had to lock my legs at the knees and be real stiff and strong. (unless I got unstable, then went to sit). I also concentrated on one thing in front of me (cloud, other flier, object on the ground...whatever) and focused on it the whole time . It helped me stay stable. Of course the more hybrids I do, the easier they are. On the exit issue, We launched a 4-way belly (2 floating and 2 on the inside) and had the other 2 fly to their slots. To get specific, I would have to show you the actual grips. But, it went off perfect on the WVSCR attempt. Hope any of this helps.... or even makes any sense. Trent 0 #5 July 1, 2002 What's up man? Here's what we try... Have the base 4, including hangers be your best belly fliers. If the hangers aren't that good on their bellies, let them launch as part of the 4 way base, then have two other belly fliers join in before the hangers go to work. We usually launch the 4 way belly group as a chunk, then have 2 of us fly in to the mudflaps or chest straps. We can usually get it quickly. When you're hanging, it's just that... you're hanging. The only controls you're going to have are legs up or down for speed adjustments to match the other hanger, and pull harder on the left or right belly guy to even out the belly formation. Just make sure your body is centered under the belly guys so the formation isn't sliding around. Maybe that helps?Oh, hello again!

FreeflyGoat 0 #8 July 2, 2002 I have found the best way to launch that formation is to launch a 4way with 2 hangers and 2 base people and then have the other 2 base people fly into the formation only because they can dock a belly formation faster than the hangers(usually.) The key to hanging is pushing your hips forward. If you dont concentrate on that then your butt will stick back slightly and will cause the washiness. _________________________ goat derka jerka bukkake jihad
