rigging65 0 #4 August 1, 2003 You can legally do anything you want to your main canopy system, as long as you're the one planning on jumping it. But, if you screw with it bad enough so that you plan on cutting it away, you have to have another back-up canopy on you. You are required, by law, to have a canopy on you (your "reserve") that you don't plan on using --except in an emergency-- on every skydive.
