Chute 0 #1 July 30, 2003 I am a US Navy Parachute Rigger. I have many back and ejection packs under my belt. I have been looking around but there isn't anywhere close by to get enrolled in a class. Does anyone know how I can go about getting the training or what books I would need to just study and take the test if I can do it that way. Do I need the classes? I know it wouldn't hurt. thanx, Chute Bottomless Beers and Blue Skies! * Brother_Brian * D.S.W.F.S.B. #

From Poynter's: "Those in the active military service and those who are civilian employees of the military, currently engaged in rigging work (or who have been discharged in the previous year), may qualify for a senior rigger certificate by acquiring a letter to that effect from their Commanding Officer or Section Chief. This then makes them eligible for the 20 question objective test on the regulations only. And, for them, no practical or oral exams are required." skycat 0 #4 July 31, 2003 Correct, but there is a lot of information in there, that he will have to know such as the FAA part of it. Also, I know a navy rigger who still had to take all the civilian tests before he could get his civilan riggers ticket. So with everything that involves the FAA, YMMV.Fly it like you stole it!
