Ripcord pin date of manufacture

Recommended Posts

the manufactorer should be able to tell you if you call them.

if it is about the test, i'd get it done. i mean, who says that the ones from november of 2001 are the only bad pins.

we had one fail that wasn't in that time frame (it was made in october of 2000)

When you say failed, did it break or just bend?

bent, and it was very "soft". like i said in the other thread, i didn't do the test myself, it was my dad, and he told me about it right after it happened *i was only about 10 feet away packing*.

I have not heard of a pin breaking yet but several bending.

Take a look at the article & picture on the home page, the service bulletins, and other threads. There have been plenty of them breaking.

There were 4 that broke and caused the SB to be issued. I have not heard of any breaking due to the test out lined in the SB

One broke at Skydive Greene County (Xenia-Ohio). It was reported by Phreezone in a different thread, I think it was a rigger's or the DZO's.
