payback462 0 #1 July 21, 2003 i have a question for all fellow jumpers those who use pullout: what size diameter is your PC? thanks!
rigging65 0 #2 July 21, 2003 Same size as a throw-out p/c (although you can go an inch or two smaller, as you don't need the drag to pull the pin). usskydiver 0 #3 July 21, 2003 Allen, I jump an RS.1 Javelin Oddessy with a pull out. I honestly don't know the PC size but it's the stock one that came with the rig. My handle is attached to the top and not the bottom of the PC. In my opinion, the rig manufacturer should set the standard for PC sizes based on container size, canopy type, etc. Tim
hookitt 1 #4 July 21, 2003 Mines a 28 inch. (the real dimension is a 1/2 inch smaller) -My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
skygod7777 0 #5 July 21, 2003 i have a 24" and i used to have a 22" on my last rig. and i also know people that have a 30" on their rig, so any size (well just about) will work just fine. later
crutch 0 #6 July 21, 2003 You made me think and I actually had to go measure mine, as I was not sure what I had since I got my new rig. I believe that 26" is the standard on Jumpshack rigs, although I may be wrong. I have had them from 22" on up to 30" to effect the opening of the canopy (it seems to make a difference, the larger the faster). In fact I had one made that was 36", approaching base jumping sizes for a stunt we were doing. So what is the right size, hell I don't know, but 26" seems to work, then maybe move up or down from there.blue skies, art
hookitt 1 #7 July 22, 2003 Why are you asking any way? You jump a VooDoo. I know my old 92 Talon had a 26 inch. Are you currently jumping a pull-out? Are you concerned about something or just curious? C-ya -My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
payback462 0 #8 July 22, 2003 i was just curious, every time somebody would see me stuffing my PC and bridle in with my main theyd come over to se wtf i was doing. a couple people said my PC looked like it was too small, its a 26" like your old talon. i definetaly wasnt worried though, ive been getting some pretty quick openings with it on my new spectre. now that ive switched over i dont think ill ever go back (cept maybe for wingsuits)
