murrays 0 #1 July 18, 2003 I just picked up a ProTrack and the Jumptrack software and interface. I cannot download to the computer. I have entered the registration code, I connect the Protrack, the interface led glows "ready", I click on connect, Press "Set" while at the PC window on the Protrack....and nothing happens. I have set it to all 4 Com ports with no results. The serial port works because I sync my Palm Pilot with it. I'm thinking it is some sort of Windows thing..HP 2100 Omnibook, Win 98SE or the interface is nfg. Any thoughts/ideas/experiences?-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I have to get the software ready for recieve and then go into PC mode on my ProTrack to get it to recogize and download. It will usually fail unless I make the ProTrack itself the last step.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
murrays 0 #3 July 18, 2003 Well, here is what I found out was going on....Thanks to Steffen at Larssen & Brusgaard... The Serial port was "possessed" by my Palm Pilot Hot Sync Manager and unavailable to the Jumptrack interface. I took Hot Sync Manager out of my StartUp folder, rebooted...and voila! I was able to download. The way that you can tell if the serial port is controlled/unavailable is if the Ready light is on BEFORE you click "Connect" in the program. Here is the text of Steffen's e-mail to me that allowed me to solve this problem: -------->>>>>> Dear Murray Stevens I'm sorry to read that you are having problems with the PC-Interface and Jump-Track. For me to better support you please reply to the following questions. 1. Is the red light on the rear of the PC-Interface off BEFORE you press the "Connect" button in Jump-Track? (If the red light on the rear of the PC-Interface is on before you press connect, then another device driver is occupying the Com-port, and you need to remove this device driver when using the PC-Interface. I know that palm-pilots does this, and also some digital camera's.) 2. Does the red light on the rear of the PC-Interface turn on AFTER you press the "Connect" button in Jump-Track?
